Haluk Bilginer is a well-known actor in Turkey. In addition to his acting career in Turkey, he has also worked in the United Kingdom. He is most recognized for his performance as Mehmet Osman in the television soap opera EastEnders (1985), which aired throughout the 1980s. In addition to that, he has appeared in Hollywood films as a supporting actor. In the comedy film Ishtar (1987), which is considered to be one of the most infamous failures in the history of film, he portrayed a wicked guerilla commander. In the dark comedy picture Buffalo Soldiers (2001), he played a Turkish Mafioso. In the episode of Persephone that were shown on MI-5 in the years 2002 and 2004, he portrayed the character of Emre Celenk.

He is a Turkish actor who was born on June 5th, 1954. In recognition of his performance in the 2018 film Şahsiyet, Bilginer was awarded the title of Best Actor at the 47th International Emmy Awards. During the Cannes Film Festival, his film, Kış Uykusu, was awarded the prestigious Palme d’Or. In addition to his acting career in Turkey, he has also worked in the United Kingdom.
