Lee Byung-hun
Lee Byung-hun was born in the year 1970 in the city of Seoul, South Korea. He was raised in an affluent home as a result of his very successful father, who was a successful businessman. A friend of his mother’s urged that he pursue a career in acting, although he had never considered doing so before. It was in 1991 when he submitted his audition to the KBS television network, and he was approved. The television series “Asphalt My Hometown” was his debut endeavor, and it was only on the air for a brief time. During his subsequent KBS project, “Tomorrow Love,” which was released in 1992, Lee gained popularity, particularly among the female audience. Throughout the decade of the 1990s, he continued to work on television programs, but he also experimented with working in feature films. Before he made his debut in the film “J.S.A. Joint Security Area” in the year 2000, a few of his prior projects were unsuccessful. The movie went on to become his first significant box office success. The unfortunate news is that Lee’s father passed away in the same year. A number of successful television shows and films, including “Beautiful Days” and “All In,” as well as films, such as “A Bittersweet Life” and “The Good, the Bad, and the Weird,” contributed to Lee’s consistent rise in popularity during the course of his career. Lee was quickly becoming a well-known figure on a global scale. The highly anticipated television drama “Iris” and his other feature films “I Saw the Devil” and “Masquerade” proceeded to propel him to greater heights of popularity. In addition to establishing himself as one of the most prominent celebrities in Asia, he is the only actor to have sold out the Tokyo Dome with 45,000 spectators roaring in excitement. One of the first two Korean performers to ever be recognized with a hand and foot print ceremony at The TLC Chinese Theater, he was one of the first two to get this award in the year 2012.
To begin his acting career, Lee made his debut in the television drama “Asphalt My Hometown” (1991). It was in the 1995 picture Who Drives Me Mad? that he made his debut in front of the big screen. On the other hand, his name did not become public knowledge until he appeared in the film Joint Security Area, which was released in the year 2000. As a result of the film’s success at the box office, it surpassed Shiri’s previous record for the highest-grossing picture in South Korea, which had been held by Shiri. In his subsequent film, Bungee Jumping of Their Own (2001), he portrayed the role of a family guy who falls in love with a young man who is the reincarnation of his previous sweetheart. A variety of accolades, such as the Blue Dragon Film Award and the Grand Bell Award, were bestowed upon him following the completion of both films.
