If you were to ask people who watch television to choose their favorite double act, there is a good possibility that the two actors who play the lead roles in Vengeance Most Fowl would be at the top of the list.

For the first time in almost a decade, Wallace and Gromit are making their first significant appearance. Additionally, this is the first picture in which Peter Sallis’s voice is not included as the cheese-loving inventor.

According to Nick Park of Sallis, who passed away in 2017 at the age of 96, “It has been quite emotional [doing this production] since we lost Peter, he was such an original, unique voice,” adds Nick Park.

So it is really challenging for anyone to put themselves in his position. We have been fortunate enough to have a young actor whom we have known for a considerable amount of time and who is capable of performing an outstanding Wallace imitation.

“He has joined us in a really friendly manner, and he is simply wonderful. It is difficult to differentiate between the two of them.

Ben Whitehead, an actor and voice artist who is 47 years old, has expressed that he would consider it an honor to be given the opportunity to play the part. But he also confesses that he is experiencing some kind of pressure.

“Enormous pressure!” .

Due to the fact that it is a highly well-known persona. I had the opportunity to collaborate with Peter Sallis on a few of occasions for the film The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, which was released in 2005.

As a result, there is a significant amount of pressure associated with that. And I am really thankful to Aardman for providing me with such a generous amount of time to develop the character.

In the following sentence, he says, “You kind of have to do the ‘hmm’ and the ‘hee-hee’,” exhibiting certain Wallace-isms that sound indistinguishable from Peter Sallis’s Yorkshire tones.

“Definitely the elongation of the vowels like ‘cheeeeese’!”

Why return now?

For a number of years, fans have been demanding that the plasticine duo provide further content. The question is, why now?

“The last question that is always asked whenever we have done talks around the world is, ‘When is the next Wallace & Gromit film?'” Park reveals. “The last time we did that I just came home burning with this idea that’s been around for years.”

The concept was that what if Wallace were to develop a smart Gnome that was pre-programmed and could be operated by voice?

Norbot is introduced, but it should come as no surprise to those who are familiar with Wallace and Gromit that the inventor’s plan, which was well-intentioned, ultimately results in chaos.

This is not the only recognizable aspect that has made an appearance in this most recent narrative.

This new adventure also contains an old foe, the criminal mastermind Feathers McGraw, who is a chicken-impersonating-penguin. Wallace and Gromit, with Gromit doing the majority of the fighting, beat Feathers McGraw in the 1993 film The Wrong Trousers to defeat him.

According to Merlin Crossingham, who is also the director of Vengeance Most Fowl alongside Nick Park, “the single most asked question whenever we are out and about talking about the future of Wallace & Gromit is ‘when will Feathers be back?'”

“Everybody loves a villain, it’s often said your film is only as good as its villain, [so it] seemed a perfect opportunity to bring Feathers back for this story.”

It was in 1989’s A Grand Day Out that moviegoers were first exposed to the characters of Wallace and Gromit. Ever since then, their exploits have included everything from apparel that doesn’t work properly to mystery were-rabbits among other things.

According to Crossingham, “I believe that Wallace and Gromit have a relationship that is comprised of a great deal of facets.”

“They are the closest of friends. In a sense, they are accomplices in crime; they are like a man and a dog. In addition, it is hoped that the films, their narratives, and their link would resonate with people of all ages, including children and adults.

“I firmly believe that it is not simply the simplicity of their way of life that generates lunacy; rather, it is the fact that they are relatable.

“However, everyone, at some point or another in the stories, strikes a chord with them on some level.

“And I think that what Nick has created, right back at the beginning with A Grand Day Out, has really struck a chord with people.”
