RIYADH: On Wednesday, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia marked the beginning of the second “Common Ground” event, which was held to honor the distinct cultures of Saudi Arabia and Iraq.
Art, music, and folklore are just some of the things that are included at “Common Ground,” which is an event that is organized by the Ministry of Culture.
Residents were asked to “explore and celebrate Iraqi culture as well as the historical and cultural bonds between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Iraq through art, music, storytelling, and other forms of expression,” according to the letter from the ministry.
Mega Studio, located in Boulevard City in Riyadh, is the location of the event, which will continue until the 31st of December.
A memorial service will be held in honor of the writer Kareem Al-Iraqi, who passed away the previous year, to celebrate his contributions to the fields of art and literature. His body of work includes novels, plays, songs, and screenplays.
A number of songs by the well-known Iraqi singer-songwriter Kadim Al-Sahir were performed at the inaugural night. On Thursday, there will be a number of lectures that will be given by heritage specialists.
There will also be approximately one hundred works on show at the event that were created by artists from Iraq and Saudi Arabia.
Shia Al-Sudani, the Prime Minister of Iraq, was received enthusiastically by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in Al Ula on Wednesday for the purpose of engaging in conversations regarding the happenings in the area.
